World’s Most Backward Culture Switches Off the Internet “because it’s evil”

ree

Afghanistan’s religious rulers have declared that the internet is ‘evil’ and must not be accessed by a single one of its 43 million residents—ever again, with those leaders announcing that anyone caught using the internet from now on will face the death penalty.

The nationwide internet shutdown began on September 29, 2025, following regional restrictions that started earlier in the month (initially on September 16 in northern areas).

The Taliban imposed the blackout as part of what it calls a broader crackdown on “immoral activities” and an effort to enforce conservative Islamic values, including “limiting access to content deemed harmful or promoting vice.”

Effectively, Afghanistan’s rulers have taken an already backward nation and dragged it further into the past—right back to the seventh century in fact.

The Taliban, who serve as both religious leaders and warlords, regained control of the country in 2021 after the West spent 18 years in a futile attempt to bring civilisation to the region.

Officials insist the shutdown is necessary “to prevent immoral activities” and combat “evils” such as misinformation and external influences. A spokesman for the Taliban governor in Balkh province reiterated that restrictions are in place to curb these issues, framing the move as a return to “conservative values.”

In reality, it is nothing more than a reset to the seventh century. Technology—an entirely Western creation—is looked upon with fear and suspicion by Afghans.

Before the blackout, around 13.2 million people in Afghanistan had some form of internet access, representing a penetration rate of 30.5% of the population (estimated at 43 million). The shutdown has cut all of these users off, plunging the country into a “total blackout.”

How the BBC managed to reframe this as a WOKE issue.

Despite the woman in the BBC’s image clearly being Muslim, the broadcaster has managed to reframe this story as a battle of the sexes, even though it has nothing to do with men oppressing women. This is simply a backward culture controlled by a primitive seventh-century religion.

Progressives in the UK hold two contradictory beliefs about Islam at the same time. When Muslims practice Islam in their own countries, it is seen as barbaric, misogynistic, and backward. Yet when Muslims come here to live, Progressives turn a blind eye. Even though their beliefs, morals, culture, and religion have not changed, suddenly it is magically considered honourable and comparable to ours.

Somehow, it is the British people who then become the problem—labelled as racist or “Islamophobic” for pointing this out.

Yet despite all of this, Britain has imported more than 60,000 Afghans. Not a single one has renounced the seventh-century faith they supposedly fled from. The very same faith they are still clinging to today. Nobody can explain these two diametrically opposed concepts, least of all the BBC.
