The gang rape of a young woman in a Banbury Churchyard occurred just 85 yards away from a hotel housing Asylum Seekers it has been revealed.
Local authorities have reportedly been less than transparent about the incident, referring to the gruesome attack in the vaguest of terms before then making mention of the ‘local community’ which many believe authorities only ever say when immigrants are involved.
The gang rape is alleged to have occurred in the grounds of St Mary's Church in the early hours of Sunday morning. The victim, a woman in her 30s, was reportedly attacked by multiple men leaving her both physically and mentally scarred.
In what appears to be deliberate disinformation, Thames Valley Police claimed one of the offenders “had been described as white” but didn’t provide any evidence for the claim. The force has not said how many attackers were believed to have been involved, however, the use of the term “at least one” denotes multiple people were involved.
Police are also appealing for a woman who they believe may have tried to help the victim, as well as anyone else in the area between midnight and 02:30 BST, to get in touch.
Banbury MP Sean Woodcock said: "I know this will have shocked the entire community and all our thoughts are with the victim." He also said it was important to allow officers to investigate properly and "to avoid any speculation”, the other fateful phrase only ever used when authorities know that immigrants are involved.
Now we can reveal that the Churchyard is just 85 yards away from Whatley Hall, a 3 star hotel housing over 300 asylum seekers. The hotel is literally across the road from the crime scene with the Churchyard being visible from the hotel's bedroom windows.
The Whatley Hall Hotel was reportedly commandeered by the Home Office in 2022 to house Asylum Seekers and almost from day one it came under heavy criticism from local residents for the hotels crumbling appearance, and groups of young men hanging around outside.
Women walking around Banbury town centre at night have reported feeling unsafe with many now avoiding the centre altogether. According to locals, the hotel, once a beautiful building, is now run down and in a state of disrepair. Gangs of young men are seen loitering around outside further adding to its general decline.
Local safety campaigners had previously warned that housing so many angry young men in Banbury town centre was unsafe, however both the local council and police failed to take the warnings seriously.
In July of this year, the Government won a high court battle against Epping Forest Council following a similar incident, making it clear that the safety of local residents was second to that of migrants arriving here due to the European Convention on Human Rights.
