Canada's Health Agency plan to 're-educate' anti-vaxxers after 3 year probe into historical tweets and social media posts.
The Public Health Agency of Canada has published a bid-proposal for consultants to trawl through three years of social media posts to identify those they consider to be 'anti-vaxxers' in order to better target their education programme in future.
The new plan, published by the Government of Canada, states:
In preparation for increased vaccination education, promotion, and outreach, The Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) is requiring the services of a consultant to analyze the vaccine related conversations on social media and PHAC social media initiative and campaign performance.
The consultant will analyze vaccine-related conversations, and their participants, on Twitter and and social media channels, including Reddit, Blogs, Forums, and News, spanning up to three years of historical data.
The consultant will analyze PHAC’s social media initiative and campaign performance, including content engagements and the campaign’s influence on vaccine-related conversation.
This, according to critics, is the Canadian Government attempting to trawl through 3 years of historical tweets and social media posts to understand the mind of an anti-vaxxer so they can be re-educated.
No danger of them actually learning from anti-vaxxers of course, they're merely wanting to find out as much about them as they can so they can crush them more effectively in future.
