After Life will return for a second series on 24th April 2020.
Its creator, Ricky Gervais announced he'd begun writing season 2 in March 2019 and filming began on the 9th September.
The first series was an unexpected gem in the Netflix lineup. Thousands took to Twitter to say how much they enjoyed the show with Gervais Tweeting “I have never had a reaction like this before. It’s been insane. And heartwarming.”
The sitcom about a suicidal local newspaper reporter, said by many to be Gervais’s finest work, mixes razor-sharp humour with pathos in a way that no other sitcom of the 21st century has managed to do.The entire cast of the first series, including the dog, will return for season 2.
Ricky Gervais is set to have another memorable year after starting it with a hilarious appearance at the Golden Globes in January.
As yet there is no trailer for Season 2, but here's a reminder of just how brilliant the first series was.
