Parents of Vaccinated 6yr old Boy Mourn His Death

A YOUNG Portuguese boy, just 6 years of age, who was taken by his parents to get his first Covid Vaccine only days ago has died of a heart attack reports local media.

The unnamed child was admitted to Santa Maria hospital in Lisbon on Saturday (January 15) after having a “cardiorespiratory arrest”, according to CNN Portugal. The University Hospital Centre in North Lisbon (CHULN) announced on Monday, January 17 that although the cause of death is still being analysed by Portugal’s medicines authority Infarmed, the child had tested positive for Sars-CoV-2 on admission.

The hospital said in a statement that “the child had the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine the previous week, which CHULN has communicated to Infarmed and the general health directorate (DGS).”

Portugal, which has one of the world's highest rates of vaccination against COVID-19 with around 87% of its 10 million population already fully vaccinated, is nevertheless facing a surge in infections according to officials. In response Portugal's Health Authorities cleared Covid-19 vaccines for use on children as young as five and began vaccinating every child just a week before Christmas, with parents frightened by the media, rushing to have their child injected with the experimental gene therapy.

Vaccine Centres geared-up to vaccinate children five to 11 year olds across Portugal with many parents thanking authorities for making the vaccine available for children. Rita Oliveira and her 11-year-old son Afonso were typical of the parents getting their child vaccinated for a disease that they don't suffer from and took the opportunity to leave a message to parents who were in doubt about whether to vaccinate their child or not, saying:

"Trust those that know more than we do ... so this (pandemic) finally ends and we can have our lives back," she said.
